E.g. If you will not join the organization after taking the offer letter your name will be mud.

264. Your sins will find you out: Things you do wrong will become known.गलत काम सामने आना 

E.g. I warned you initially to not buy anything from his shop. He cheats his customers by selling duplicate stuff, and now he lost his business completely, truly said ‘your sins will find you out.

265. Zero tolerance: Non-acceptance of any crime, no matter how small or trivial. (किसी गलत काम को अनदेखा न करने की स्थिति)

E.g. Because of zero tolerance policy, Reema was expelled from school because she carried a mobile phone and was caught talking to someone during the class.

266. Zigged before you zagged: Things done in the wrong order.चीजों को गलत तरिके से करना 

E.g. I couldn’t figure out why she was so upset with me. Perhaps I zigged when should have zagged.

267. Zip it: To tell someone to be quiet. चुप कराना

E.g. “You’re so obnoxious John. Can’t you just zip it for a while ! I am just trying to listen to some important news”.

268. Zip your lip: Someone wants you to shut up or keep quite about something. ( रहने के लिए कहना )

E.g. Tve heard enough. Zip your lip!” hollered the class teacher.

269. Turned a deaf ear: To disregard or ignore.अनदेखा या अवहेलना करना 

E.g. How can a new leader just turn a deaf ear to their cries for food and shelter?

270. Take a back seat: To choose not to be in a position of responsibility. अधिकार या उत्तरदायित्व लेने से बचना 

E.g. Mr. Smith’s children have grown old enough to handle the responsibilities. He should take a back seat.

271. Tables are turned: The situation has changed giving the advantage to the party who had previously been at a disadvantage. ( परिस्थितियों को बदलना )

Eg. PV Sindhu turned the tables by playing a better game in the last set and won another medal for our nation.

272. Take someone under your wing: Look after them while they are learning something. (देखभाल करना)

E.g. During the initial classes, one of the older children usually takes a new girl or boy under his/her wing.

273. Take your medicine: Accept the consequences of something you have done wrong.( परिणाम भुगतना)

 E.g. I wasn’t really aware of the consequences initially. Now I know I did wrong,and I have to take my medicine.

274. Taste of your own medicine : You do something bad to someone that they have done to you to teach you a lesson. (किसी से सबक मिलना )

 E.g. Shabana talks too much, but yesterday she met someone who talked even more than she does, and she got frustrated. She finally got a taste of your own medicine.

275. The apple does not fall far from the tree : Offspring grow up to be like their parents.(अपने माता पिता जैसा होना ) 

E.g. Mom: I’m going for shopping!

Daughter: Me too! love shopping! Father: The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. 

276. At odds: In dispute. झगडे में 

E.g. Shelly and her brother are always at odds over what to watch on TV. 

277. Bad blood: Bitter relations. कड़वे सम्बन्ध 

 E.g. There is bad blood between Sudha and her mother-in-law. Both of them couldn’t stand with each other!

278. At random: Aimlessly. बिना उद्देश्य के 

 E.g. You can take any card at random from the deck.
